Aaron Judge wins American League Player of the Week
As first announced by
Major League Baseball a few hours ago, Aaron Judge has been named the American
League Player of the Week. The awards keep coming for the Yankees’ right
fielder, who has been consistently dominant all season long, both offensively
and defensively.

Over the past week, Judge
hit an incredible .500/.600/1.000, all of which were tops in the AL. He crushed three home runs, in addition to six RBIs, six walks, and ten runs scored.
Of the six games the Bombers played, Judge collected four multi-hit games. The
biggest moment of the week was undoubtedly the mammoth 495-foot bomb he hit
against the Orioles yesterday. It was the longest homer of his young career,
and tied for the second longest ever measured by MLB’s Statcast.
Thanks to his huge week,
Judge now leads the American League in all three of the Triple Crown
categories. While it’s still early, it is an impressive feat nonetheless, and
one baseball fans should keep an eye on as the season progresses. He would be
the first player to win the award since Miguel Cabrera in 2012 and the first
Yankee to accomplish the feat since Mickey Mantle in 1956.
Aaron Judge has turned
the heads of everyone around the world of baseball. He is racking up awards, while
putting up video game-type numbers. As he continues to slug his way through the
season, the question asked by everyone is: What else can this phenom do?
