Judge hits a bomb, Sevy dominates in 2018 All-Star Game

With the 2018 season now officially half way over, the 2018 All-Star Game was upon us. Although four Yankees were selected, only Aaron Judge and Luis Severino made appearances; Gleyber Torres is still on the DL and Aroldis Chapman chose to refrain from pitching in order to rest his ailing knee. However, both Judge and Sevy made major contributions to this game, so let's get into it.

So, for starters, AARON JUDGE HIT A HOME RUN OFF OF MAX SCHERZER. You read that right. It actually happened. And Severino was the one who caught the ball. Take a look:

Unreal. What a moment for Judge, the Yankees, and fans in general. He would later walk in his second at-bat against Mike Foltynewicz, and ground out to third against Jeremy Jeffress in his third at-bat.

Judge started the game in left field, a position he hadn't played since 2016 when he was still in AAA, and naturally he was tested almost right away. Nolan Arenado, the second batter of the bottom of the first inning, popped a fly ball into left, and Judge made the play, although he did not look comfortable at all.

Severino, meanwhile, entered the game in the second inning to relieve Chris Sale. Matt Kemp drilled a double to lead off the inning, but Sevy overpowered the next three hitters he faced, striking out Harper and Brandon Crawford. Bryce Harper later said in an interview that the Home Run Derby was easier than facing Sevy, so that's fun.

All in all, it was  a very fun and entertaining All-Star Game as there was an abundance of home runs and late inning drama. Now, let's take a few days off, and then go beat that other New York team this coming weekend.
