Are the Yankees truly a Death Star? A Yankees’ Corey Kluber trade scenario that reopens the idea of adding Manny Machado

Image
News broke today from Padres’ reporter Dennis Lin of the Athletic that the San Diego Padres are interested in acquiring Indians’ RHP Corey Kluber. This makes sense as the Padres have a plethora of young talent to deal, but also a strong core of players they can build around. However, there is a twist. The report of the Padres’ interest also included that the Padres would be interested in flipping him for a third baseman to anchor their infield. Kluber would instantly help the Friars, but with his window of solid years left closing, the match is not perfect.   Photo Credit: Getty Images

The Departure of D-Rob: How will the Yankees fill the void?

Image
The Yankees’ recent decision to not re-sign David Robertson , aka D-Rob, aka Houdini, provoked a cross-section of reactions from both my Yankee fan friends, as well as members of Yankees Twitter. He should have stayed, it was right for him to go, D-Rob sucked, D-Rob is the best, and boo Brian Cashman were just a few of the opinions held by fans. Photo credit: New York Times

2019 Bronx Bomber Ball mock Hall of Fame voting results

Image
Along with being Yankee enthusiasts, the staff here at BBB is comprised of avid baseball fans across the entirety of the sport. With that being said, we decided to complete a mock Hall of Fame voting using the 2019 candidates. Similar to the official voting, our ballots could only comprise of up to ten candidates, but choosing less than ten candidates was surely an option. Any player with a mark above 75% would be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, if the voting rested in our hands. Here are the results of the eleven ballots casted: Photo Credit: USA Today Sports

2019 Yankees Bounce Back Candidates

Image
For the third consecutive season, I’m going to be taking a stab at who I believe is primed for a bounce back season for the New York Yankees.   Many key Yankees underperformed by their own standards in 2018, and some just flat out stunk, w hether it be due to injury, general underperformance, or perhaps something else altogether.  With the team's sights set firmly on #28, who is in best position to redeem themselves in 2019?   Photo Credit: New York Yankees (via Twitter)

BREAKING: Yankees sign SS Troy Tulowitzki

Image
Late Tuesday evening, Jeff Passan of ESPN broke news that the New York Yankees were in agreement with free-agent shortstop Troy Tulowitzki. The one-year contract, which will pay Tulowitzki the league minimum salary, provides the Yankees with a stopgap option at SS while Didi Gregorius recovers from offseason Tommy John Surgery.   Passan also notes that this deal does not preclude the team from continuing to pursue Manny Machado. Free agent shortstop Troy Tulowitzki is in agreement on a deal with the New York Yankees pending a physical, league sources tell ESPN. Tulowitzki is expected to join the Yankees on a league-minimum deal, with the Toronto Blue Jays paying the remainder of his $20 million salary. — Jeff Passan (@JeffPassan) January 2, 2019
