Adam Warren placed on 10-day DL, Holder recalled
This
morning the Yankees recalled right handed pitcher Jonathan Holder from AAA
Scranton. The corresponding move was veteran righty Adam Warren being sent to
the 10-day disabled list with a right back strain. Holder made the Yankees
opening day roster but struggled mightily in the Bronx posting a whopping 20.25
ERA in three games while posting a record of 0-1. Holder was sent down after
his poor performance against Baltimore on April 6th. The 24-year-old righty
will look to get things back on track in this weekend’s final two games against
Toronto. Holder will be active for today’s 1:05 game.
Warren
who pitched last night and gave up a home run to former Yankee legend Yangervis
Solarte has been his usual solid dependable self this season. In eight
appearances he has posted a 3.24 ERA. Warren solidified last nights’ game from
getting too far out of hand after another sub-par performance by starter Sonny
Gray. He pitched 2.2 innings while surrendering only the solo homerun to
Solarte. The team hopes that Warren’s stay on the DL will be just for the
minimum 10 days.
