BBB Betting Tips: Orioles @ Yankees 4/7
The worst component about betting on the favored team against the spread is the potential of extra innings. The home team needs one run to win, this blog needed two. Obviously being a fan of the Yankees comes first, so I would easily have taken another loss for BBB Betting Tips if it meant a Yankee win. Unfortunately, while we were looking for a win-win, it ended in the heartbreak of a 14th inning loss - a total lose-lose.
Baltimore Orioles @ New York Yankees (04/07)
Chris Tillman (0-1, 9.00 ERA) vs. Sonny Gray (0-0, 2.25 ERA)
There is a growing concern that this blog is responsible for the recent Yankee woes. A home stand against the flailing Orioles should have resulted in two easy wins for the Bronx Bombers and has instead given two horrible losses. It’s easy to go down the path we have the past few days, see the Yankees line says they are so heavily favored and grab the spread. Today’s money line is begging this blog to do the same thing again. We owe the Yankees a chance to turn it around, though.
The Yankees line is -230, which is just a massive line for a team that is on a two game losing streak. Sonny Gray is on the mound and he looked strong in his first outing, despite only pitching through four innings. Chris Tillman on the other-hand, looked awful. This should be a blow out, problem is Sonny is looking like a strike out pitcher that will not be going deep into the game and the Yankees bullpen is decimated after last night, which could be a big disadvantage. I still think the Yankees win, but let’s fade the 75% public betting, and say the Orioles cover.
Final Call: Orioles +1.5 (+100)
