BBB Betting Tips: Yankees vs. Marlins (4/16)
It has taken a few weeks,
but both the Yankees bats and this blog are finally showing some life. With the
win a few nights ago, the curse of this blog picking the Yankees outright was
lifted, and it continued the recent betting hot streak. Assuming the rain holds
off, today we keep the ride going.
Caleb
Smith (0-1, 4.73 ERA) vs. Luis Severino (2-1, 3.50 ERA)
The Yankees ace against a
terrible Marlins team alone screams blow out. The fact the Yankees have had two
days off and are coming home as well rested as possible, screams blow out. The
rain in the Bronx is where the only potential question mark lies.
I want to say grab the
spread, and watch the Yankees win in a large fashion. The problem is the rain
and a wind blowing in from the outfield makes it a little bit shaky. The series
against Baltimore showed how much the Yankees bats struggle when the wind is
knocking the ball down. Having said all of that, the Marlins are pitiful. Derek Jeter is avoiding the game because he knows how ugly this can get. For the first time this season, I think the right call
is doubling up the units, and pick the Yankees money line.
It’s a riskier play, with a higher investment a lot more is lost if the Yankees lose, but they really should not lose. Teams with a -300+ line are there because they have to somehow try and stop people from betting on a clear favorite. This strategy won't work here, double up, grab the money line.
