BBB Betting Tips: Yankees vs. Houston Astros (4/30)

11-2-1 now in the last 14 games. For those of you at home keeping track, that puts us up about 7 units in that stretch. With Sonny Gray on the mound the Yankees have a tough night ahead of them, but BBBetting should have an easy one.

New York Yankees @ Houston Astros (04/30)

Sonny Gray (1-1, 7.71 ERA) vs. Charlie Morton (3-0, 1.86 ERA)

Sonny Gray has showed enough this season to validate avoiding betting on the Yankees when he starts. Tonight’s line shows that the bookmakers 100% agree, as the Yankees (on a nine game winning streak) are the underdogs. It’s almost unheard of to have a team as hot as the Yankees go into a matchup as underdogs. With Gray on the mound though, and the Yankees playing the defending World Champs, it’s no wonder. Gray has only made it past the fifth inning once this year, and has a monster ERA. Charlie Morton on the other hand has been stellar, 3-0 with a 1.86 ERA.

All this said, that +135 line still is tempting, a win tonight would be a huge bump in our recent winnings. Morton hasn’t faced a lineup with the quality of the Yankees yet this year, and Sonny is due for a bounce back eventually. It is a risk though, and I think there is a much friendlier bet available.

The over/under opened this morning at 9, and has dropped to 8.5. By game time I wouldn’t be surprised to see it slide to 8. The public has been all over the under today. I see it differently though. Morton will struggle against this lineup, and Sonny is guaranteed to give up some runs. Grab the 8.5 over.

Final Call: Over 8.5 (-110)
