Aaron Hicks reinstated from the DL; Shane Robinson DFA'd

With the Yankees suffering from numerous injuries in the early part of the season, they’ll get one piece back in Aaron Hicks, who was dealing with an oblique injury. The injury-prone center fielder is reinstated from the 10-day DL after he played in just 88 games last season due to injury as well, something that has slowed down in his career so far.

Hicks is back in the lineup tonight batting sixth while he will be DHing for the time being. He was two-for-four before going down with the injury and his health is key for the Yanks to reach their full potential. An All Star-like first half of the season in 2017, Hicks could potentially be the spark that jumpstarts this offense.

In the corresponding move, the Yanks OF Shane Robinson was DFA’d, as he made one start, which was Tuesday’s blowout loss against the Red Sox in which he went one-for-three with a walk. Hicks’ return should soon be followed by fellow outfielders Clint Frazier and Jacoby Ellsbury and it means no more starts from the likes of Jace Peterson and Robinson.
