Yankees MLB Draft 2018: Yankees select OF Ryder Green from Karns High School with the 97th pick of the third round
The
Yankees continued their trend of drafting position players on day two of the
2018 draft as they selected an outfielder named Ryder Green from Karns High
School in Tennesse. Green is committed to Vanderbilt University and was rated
as the 82nd best draft prospect according to MLB.com

Green
was born on May 5, 2000 and stands at 6’2”, 205 pounds. He is known for his
power, which is one of the best among all high school prospects. He projects as
a corner outfielder, but played center in high school, which shows his athleticism.
He has a plus throwing-arm and has been clocked in the low 90’s on the mound
with a solid curveball.
Green
is the second high school player taken by the Yanks in the draft’s first three
rounds and is another example of how the Yankees are dedicated to beefing up
their position player depth in the organization.
