BBB Betting Tips: Yankees vs. Houston Astros (5/3)
BBBetting started the month
off right, winning the total hits+runs+errors under 26 with relative ease.
Undefeated in the month of May, and 12-3-1 in our last 16 games. With Masahiro
Tanaka on the mound, the old “tee-ball Tanaka” over rule should be in play, but
with the Yankees listed as underdogs, I am thinking differently.
New York Yankees @ Houston Astros (05/03)
Masahiro
Tanaka (4-2, 4.37 ERA) vs. Lance McCullers Jr. (4-1, 3.71 ERA)
I established a rule
earlier in the season, that if Masahiro Tanaka is on the mound, we will grab
the over. Even if he isn’t actually the one giving up the runs (see last two
starts) the over will get hit regardless. Right now the over/under is sitting
at 8 runs (down from the opening 8.5) with the majority of the public grabbing
the under. Oh boy, that is enticing. It has everything we could possibly want;
fading the public, a dropping over/under, and Tanaka on the mound.
With that said, I think
it is too perfect a setup, and Tanaka has desperately been trying to get an
under of late to stick it to this blog. The direction we should be looking is
the money line. This season, when the Yankees are listed as underdogs, they have
gone 4-4. Winning half the games they aren’t expected to is not a bad situation
at all. Today is the ninth game they are seen as underdogs of the season, with
the money line at +115. Tanaka has improved greatly, and even Stanton looks
like he is heating up. It will be a tough one, and I am super uneasy betting
that Tanaka will pull it off, but with a favorable line it is worth the risk.
Final
Call: Yankees ML (+115)
