Yankees trade OF Jake Cave to the Minnesota Twins in exchange for RHP Luis Gil
Despite
his impressive breakout season in 2017, Jake Cave was the odd-man out of the
Yankees crowded outfield depth. Cave was designated for assignment following
the signing of Neil Walker and will now will be calling Minnesota his new home.
Gil
is only 19-years-old and was not listed amongst the Twins’ top prospects. Gil
is not highly-touted, but posted solid numbers for the Twins’ Dominican Summer
League team. He had a 2.59 ERA in 14 starts while compiling a solid 10.6 K/9.
