Yankee release Danny Espinosa
Per Jack Curry on Twitter, the Yankees have
released infielder Danny Espinosa. Unlike other moves earlier today, this one
does not come as much of a surprise now that the Yankees have Neil Walker,
along with Espinosa's recent lack of success in the majors.
Espinosa signed a minor league deal with the Yankees, and hit just .160/.276/.320 in Spring Training, with one homer and four RBIs. His 2017 season was just as miserable, as he hit just .173/.245/.278 with the Angels, Mariners, and Rays, with six homers, 31 RBIs, and a insane 109 strikeouts in just 266 at bats. Overall, Yankee fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as Stephen Drew 2.0 will not make an appearance in a Yankee uniform in 2018.
