Yankees win series finale winning first series in Camden Yards since 2013

The Yankees looked to win this series in game three against the Baltimore Orioles, in Baltimore, for the first time since 2013. That is exactly what they did on a day in which this game was rescheduled from yesterday’s rainout.  Not only did they receive a beautiful start from the right hander Sonny Gray, they also continued their scoring ways with another road game in which they’ve scored six or more runs en route to a big 9-1 victory.

The scoring in this game was early and often. Brett Gardner led off the game with a double, and was soon driven in by Didi Gregorius. Then, right after Gregorius, Aaron Judge follows him up with a 2-run homerun to center field, the 39th of his rookie campaign, making it 3-0 through half an inning. It wouldn’t take long for the Yankees to continue their scoring output by scoring two runs in the top of third thanks to an RBI single off the bat of Matt Holliday, and an RBI ground out thanks to the ever so hot Jacoby Ellsbury, making the score 5-0.

The scorching hot Chase Headley hit a 2-run homerun to right field in the top of the fourth inning, making it 7-0 Yankees. This was the Yankees second homer of the day and 200th of the season, but the homer barrage continued later on thanks to Starlin Castro and Todd Frazier who also tallied solo home-runs.

Baltimore was able to avoid the shutout thanks to a throwing error by Didi Gregorius in the bottom of the sixth inning. The only run given up by Gray for the day.
