Domingo Acevedo and Estevan Florial named to the Futures Game World roster

While the Major League All-Star rosters have yet to be announced, Major League Baseball released the rosters for the annual Futures Game on Thursday. The Yankees will have two representatives on the World roster. RHP Domingo Acevedo and outfielder Estevan Florial are the two players that have been chosen.

Acevedo, 23, has pitched to a 3.16 ERA across three levels this season and was ranked eighth on the BBB’s preseason prospect power rankings. Acevedo’s electric fastball and upside will make him an exciting pitcher to watch in the game.

Florial, 19, was not among the Yankees’ top prospects prior to this season, but has been enjoying a breakout 2017. For Class-A Charleston, Florial is batting .310 with 30 extra base-hits. Florial is a Haitian native, and can also swipe bags as he has already taken 13 this season. He is one of lesser known names on the roster, but is deserving nonetheless.
