Yankees reportedly call up Tyler Wade
The bad news is Starling Castro was taken out of tonights
game in Chicago with a reported pulled hamstring. The good news is that help is on
the way. Tyler Wade was taken out of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders game
following a rain delay, and many have speculated that he was packing his bags to
join the Yankees in Chicago.
It has been reported by Jack Curry of YES that he will be added
to the 40-man roster tonight and will be with the team tomorrow to face the
White Sox in Chicago. Another baby bomber, Yankee fans will finally be able to
get their first glimpse of Tyler Wade in pinstripes.

Wade is an ultra-utility player. The Yankees think that he
could be a Ben Zobrist, Whit Merrifield, or Brock Holt type of player. This season in the minors,
Wade has started 10 games at second base, 12 at third base, 43 at
shortstop, two in left field, two in centerfield, and one in right field. Tyler
Wade does it with the stick, too. He’s hitting .313 with 88 hits. He also has
excellent speed as he has swiped 24 bags this season for the Railriders. It’s always exciting to see a player that has potential to
be a part of the team for a long time to come back their debut. In Wade’s case,
it could be tomorrow against the White Sox.
