Frazier and Judge's home runs back up CC Sabathia's superb outing in Yankees game three win over Houston

The Yankees were put in a familiar spot down 2-0 in the series, and looking for a huge win at home to get right back into it.  It was C.C Sabathia on the hill for the Yankees in game three, facing off against Charlie Morton, both of which had surprising breakout seasons.  Sabathia was brilliant in the 8-1 win, throwing six shutout innings. The bats finally came to life in the series putting up eight runs, after only two runs combined through first two games.

It was Todd Frazier reaching out and poking one over the short porch in right for a three run shot to open the scoring in the bottom of the second.  The Astros were threatening in the top of the third, but C.C. got Carlos Correa to pop out with the bases loaded, ending the inning.

In the bottom of the third and top of the it was the MVP candidates duling leather, with a great diving play by Jose Altuve, robbing Didi Gregorious of a base hit, followed up by a leaping catch while crashing into the wall by Aaron Judge to rob Yuli Gurriel of an extra base hit.

Chase Headley extended the Yankee lead to 4-0 in the fourth with an RBI single, scoring Greg Bird, and knocking Morton out of the game.  Will Harris came on in relief to face Aaron Judge with the bases loaded, but a quick wild pitch allowed Todd Frazier to score.  Following the wild pitch Judge lined one over the left field wall for a three-run shot, making it 8-0 Yankees.

Adam Warren pitched great, going two scoreless innings keeping the Astros off the board through the eighth inning.  Dellin Betances once again could not find the zone and continued to struggle immensely in this postseason.  He walked both batters he faced before getting pulled for Tommy Kahnle.  Kahnle was able to close out the game after giving up one run that was given to Betances' stat line.

This was a huge win for the Yankees getting them right back into the series, and giving them a lot of momentum moving forward to game 4 tomorrow night.  Sonny Gray will get the ball for the Yankees tomorrow night, he will be looking to bounce back in his first start since game one in Cleveland.  The Yankees are now 4-0 at Yankee Stadium in the postseason, and continue to play great baseball when their backs are against the wall.
