Yankees collect 11 hits off Price, avoid being swept in 3-1 win
Five Yankees players had multiple hits as the Yankees combined for 11 hits off of David Price, and they were able to avoid being swept by the Red Sox. They took game three of the series 3-1. The offense came to life in the fourth inning when they picked up five hits. Starlin Castro, Austin Romine, and Jacoby Ellsbury each had one RBI in the inning. This three run inning gave the Yankees a lead that would not be overcome by the Sox.

Didi Gregorius stayed hot through the All Star Break, going 2-3 with a double and also being hit by a pitch, and he scored in the fourth. Carlos Beltran was also one of the five players with two hits in the game as his average is up to .297 for the season now.
The Red Sox offense struggled today, only getting a combined three hits as a team against Tanaka, Dellin Betances, Andrew Miller, and Aroldis Chapman. Betances and Miller both threw one scoreless inning with one strikeout. Aroldis Chapman threw one scoreless with no strikeouts and picked up the save.
First place Baltimore comes to New York for a four game series. Ivan Nova (6-5, 5.18 ERA) will be on the mound for the first game facing off against Kevin Gausman (1-6, 4.15 ERA).
