Boone is succeeding Joe Girardi who was at the helm for the previous 10 years. Boone has been praised for his high baseball IQ, familiarity with the analytical side of baseball, and his charisma. The one thing he lacks is coaching/managerial experience. It is rumored that the Yankees will hire someone with more managerial or coaching experience as his bench coach, maybe Eric Wedge or Dusty Baker.

Stay tuned for more details regarding the hire.
