BBBets: April 2, 2021

Rough start to the 2021 for the BBBettors! Of our 11 picks from yesterday, just three hit, and if you followed our units as well, you netted out at -6.32 units.  The big winners of the day were Yankees F5 (winning after the first five innings) at 2u and -112 odds and Cardinals ML at 2u and +100 odds. But we press on to today with 14 teams in action, starting with the Red Sox and Orioles at 2:10pm EST. Below is today’s bet sheet with some notes:

ML – betting a team to win outright. Today we’re taking the White Sox straight up.

Spread betting – the team you bet on needs to cover for you to win. On today’s sheet, we have both the Dodgers and Padres at -1.5 which means each team would need to win by two or more runs for this bet to hit.

Over/under – pretty self-explanatory, you’re betting that a game’s score or a specific player's stat line will finish above or below the currently listed betting line. Today we’re banking on the Diamondbacks and Padres to combine for more than eight runs, the Orioles and Red Sox to combine for more than 9.5 runs, the Rays and Marlins to combine for less than 7.5 runs, and Blake Snell to strike out more than 5.5 batters.

Today’s wild card pick is for Xander Bogaerts to hit a home run AND the Boston Red Sox to beat the Baltimore Orioles.  A $100 bet here would payout at $550 should this hit.  We’ll generally stay away from longer odds like this over the course of the season, but they’re worth a dart throw every now and then, just don’t make them the focal points of your bet sheet.

As always, please bet responsibly, and we’ll see you again tomorrow for another day of BBBets!
