Earlier today, the Yankees traded right-handed pitcher Nick Rumbelow to the Mariners in exchange for two minor league pitchers, right-hander Juan Then and lefty JP Sears. Rumbelow, who is basically just a depth reliever, hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2015 after he underwent Tommy John surgery in 2016. He threw 15 2/3 innings in 2015, allowing seven runs, walking five, and striking out fifteen. However, even after he was DFA-d last November, he resigned with the Yankees and came back to throw 11 1/3 innings this past season in the minors.
