The Gleyber Torres Era Begins With a Win

Image
Happy Gleyber Day! The Yankees finally called up their top prospect, Gleyber Torres! Although Torres was unable to record a hit in his debut, the Yankees were still able to pick up a win! Getty Images/ Jim Mclsaac

Yankees blow five-run, early lead, lose to O's 8-7 in extra innings

Image
The Yankees lost a heart breaker to the Orioles 8-7. They had an early five run lead, and they blew it. They had bases loaded and no outs in the 12th, down by one, and they blew that too. Jordan Montgomery struggled even though he had a five-run lead. On top of that, the Yankees offense failed in important late inning situations yet again. Bottom line, this team is atrocious right now. AP Photo/ Kathy Willens

Today's Starting Lineup: Boone shakes things up

Image
Today’s starting lineup was released earlier this afternoon and you don’t need to look at it long to see some interesting choices. Remember yesterday when reports came out that Aaron Judge will likely see some time in center with the absence of both Aaron Hicks and Jacoby Ellsbury? Well, one day later and guess who’s playing center and batting second? Nu mber 99. In the leadoff spot above Judge is typically Brett Gardner, but since he’s getting the day off today, it’ll be Neil Walker. Fred Thornhill/ The Canadian Press via AP

Giancarlo Stanton's two home runs lead Yankees past Blue Jays on Opening Day 6-1

Image
Yankee fans, we did it. We finally made it to Opening Day. The long, cold offseason has ended and meaningful Yankees baseball has returned, and it retuned with an exclamation mark. Led by the 2017 NL MVP Giancarlo Stanton and his two long balls and Luis Severino's stellar outing, the Yankees dominated the Blue Jays win Aaron Boone’s first game of his career as a manager.   Photo Credit: AP

2018 Pinstripe Preview: Ronald Torreyes

Image
There are many talented young players on this Yankees team. One guy that gets overlooked is Ronald Torreyes. He may not be on the same level or even near the same level as other young guys such as Aaron Judge or Gary Sanchez, but Torreyes is certainly still a valuable player to the Yankees. Getting to know the Yankees' coaching staff

Image
We’ve become accustomed to the seeing a familiar coaching staff for quite some time in the Bronx. There were some coaching changes throughout Joe Girardi’s tenure, but for the most part, his staff went unchanged. Now that Aaron Boone is manager, only a couple of coaches from Girardi's staff are returning to assist him. A majority of them are new comers with differing levels of experience. "The Baby Bombers": A short review of Bryan Hoch's new book

Image
Living in northern NJ, it’s not uncommon to be snowed in. Last Wednesday was another one of those days as Mother Nature dropped close to twenty inches of snow. Knowing that I was likely going to be snowed in all day, I made the decision to go out and buy Bryan Hoch’s ‘The Baby Bombers,’ before the storm hit.

What was the best team in Yankees’ history?

Image
There ’s so much excitement surrounding the 2018 regular season with it being right around the corner. Because of the potential of the 2018 squad, fans are a little bit more giddy than usual this time of year. The reason being, this team could be one of the best Yankees teams we have seen in a very long time, which raises the question, which one is the best ever?    Photo Credit: SI.com

The Yankees' success in 2018 will be built on their bullpen

Image
The Yankees ’ bullpen, which was already an incredible strength in 2017, is going to be an absolute juggernaut in 2018. Yes, I understand the bullpen went unchanged since 2017 concluded, (There ’s really nothing to change about it) but it will be significantly better as a whole in 2018.     Photo Credit: Getty Images

The Yankees/Red Sox rivalry has officially been renewed

Image
So, the inevitable happened. The Red Sox agreed to a five-year deal with slugger JD Martinez. There is no surprise here, it was only a matter of time before the two were united. Photo Credit: Christian Petersen | Getty Images

Why the "Joba Rules" cannot make a return to the Bronx

Image
Chad Green was an enormous part of the Yankees ’ success in 2018. The bullpen struggled mightily in the early parts of the season, but eventually became a major strength, and Green was a big reason for that.  Photo Credit: AP

Five bold predictions for the Yankees in 2018

Image
Opening day is quickly approaching and the excitement surrounding the Yankees heading into 2018 is at an all-time high. With the addition of Giancarlo Stanton to what was already a powerhouse of a lineup, the Yankees are once again a World Series or bust club. Expectations that George Steinbrenner lived by year in and year out when he was as at the helm. The Yankees are obviously no stranger to these expectations. They are well deserved considering it’s hard to imagine the Yankees not making the postseason in 2018 with the product they will put on the field. Here are five bold predictions that could be the difference between the Yankees being a solid contending team or being far and away the best team in baseball. Photo Credit: Getty Images
