Bronx Bomber Bets 4/14/22

Image
Hello everybody and welcome again to BBBets, your favorite place to come inconsistently for gambling picks that, so far this season, are doing really well if I do say so myself. As things stand, in the two days that I have given out picks, I have gone 4-1 (Opening Day Friday) followed by a solid 3-1 showing (Monday) for a total of +3.59 units if you are betting one unit on every pick. We’re looking to continue this nice streak today, and I have 5 bets that I really like today. GOOD MORNING!! We have some bets for you today as @nicksims14 tries to stay hot on the season🔥🔥🔥 pic.twitter.com/ByQZTUxlVt — Bronx Bomber Ball (@BronxBomberBall) April 14, 2022 Let's start with the 1:10 game on the  bet slip, Rays vs. A's. In this game, I like the  Rays -1.5 (-110). The Athletics won the matchup between these two teams yesterday 4-2 in a matchup between Frankie Montas and Shane McClanahan, and I like the Rays to take the game today by at least a couple runs. Next we have...

Series Preview: NYY @ OAK 8/26-8/29

The Yankees are heading to the west coast, and they head off on this seven-game west coast swing as the hottest team in baseball. They are the owners of an 11-game winning streak and have won their last 10 consecutive series. It has been a remarkable turnaround for a team that looked like it was asleep for the first half of this season, but there is still work to be done. The Yankees current 11 game winning streak is their longest since 1985 and it has seen them go from trailing both the Red Sox and the Oakland A’s in the Wild Card standings, to leading both by four and five games respectively in the loss column. The Yankees flipped a switch in mid-July and now have ridden an impressive white hot winning streak into the driver’s seat for a playoff stretch as we head to the stretch run of the regular season. The first series up in this all-important stretch run, is the aforementioned Oakland A’s. The A’s are a talented team that had an impressive 13 game winning streak of their ow...

Five keys to victory for the Yankees in the Wild Card game

Image
The New York Yankees and the Oakland Athletics square off Wednesday night at 8:00 EST for a win or go home game more commonly referred to as the Wild Card game. The previous 162 games have built up to these mere nine innings. If the Yankees want to come out as victors, they must strive to do these five things. Photo Credit: Mary DeCicco/Getty Images

MLB Trade Rumors: Athletics prefer Estevan Florial over Clint Frazier as centerpiece of Sonny Gray trade

Image
As we close in on Major League Baseball’s non-waiver Trade Deadline tomorrow afternoon, the Yankees are still deep in discussions with the Oakland Athletics over star right hander Sonny Gray.  Per Jon Morosi of MLB Network, the A’s prefer New York’s up and coming outfield prospect Estevan Florial, currently the Yankees’ fifth ranked prospect per MLB.com, over current Yankees outfielder Clint Frazier.   Photo Credit: Mark Blinch, Associated Press In Sonny Gray trade talks between #Yankees and #Athletics , Oakland believed to prefer Florial over Frazier because of defense in CF. @MLB — Jon Morosi (@jonmorosi) July 29, 2017

MLB Trade Rumors: Yankees, Athletics discussing Yonder Alonso trade

Image
Per  MLB.com's  Jon  Morosi , the Yankees have heated up their talks with the Oakland Athletics over first  baseman  Yonder Alonso.   It was first reported yesterday  that the Athletics had sent scouts to single-A Charleston to view Blake Rutherford, Estevan  Fl orial ,  Hoy Jun Park and  Fr eicer  P erez, and today it seems that talks are progressing, although nothing is imminent at this time. The Yankees have also previously expressed interest in other lefty  first basemen , namely, Lucas Duda of the Mets, Justin Bour of the Marlins and Matt Adams of the Braves.   Photo Credit: Chris O'Meara | AP

Dreadful West Coast trip comes to an end, A's complete sweep of Yanks

Image
The West Coast woes continued for the Bronx Bombers on Father's Day, as they dropped their sixth straight game. The last place Oakland Athletics completed a four-game sweep of the Yankees with a 4-3 victory. Filling in for the injured CC Sabathia, Luis Cessa was unimpressive, and after showing signs of optimism early, the Yanks' offense faltered after the fourth inning. Photo Credit: Tony Avelar/AP

Tanaka lit up again as Yanks West Coast losing streak continues in 5-2 loss to A's

Image
The Yankees entered Saturday’s contest looking to stop their season high losing streak at four games. Unfortunately for the Yankees, their West Coast struggles continued. Masahiro Tanaka had yet another disaster start, as he gave up five earned over four innings, while giving up three more home runs to tie Ricky Nolasco for the American league lead for homers given up by pitchers with 21 on the season. Not only did Tanaka struggle, but the Yankee offense struggled throughout the game managing only two runs on five hits leading to their fifth consecutive loss.   AP Photo/Tony Avelar

Timely hitting from Teixeira, Castro guides Yankees to sweep of Athletics with 5-4 win

Image
Photo Credit: Associated Press/Eric Risberg It took Brett Gardner’s speed and awareness to happen, but in the 6th inning, Mark Teixeira’s first single in 20 at-bats tied the game at 3. Although it was an infield single with the shift on, the grounder to shallow right field was enough to score Gardner, who ran on contact from second with two outs. Starlin Castro followed Teixeira with a RBI single to center off of Oakland's Jesse Hahn and the Yankees took the lead for good, 4-3.

Tanaka pitches well, Yankees use 4-run 4th inning to win 5-1

Image
The Yankees earned their first three game win streak of the season last night after a 8-3 victory over the Athletics last night in Oakland. CC Sabathia picked up the win for the Bronx Bombers in his first start off the DL, besting Oakland’s Sonny Gray. Today’s game saw Masahiro Tanaka against the southpaw Sean Manaea, who came into today’s game toting a hefty 7 plus ERA. Tanaka has struggled in his last two outings, but the Yankees offense led by the suddenly red-hot Jacoby Ellsbury should tee off on the Athletics once again. Sabathia returns from DL, Torreyes and Beltran combine to drive in 5 runs in 8-3 win over Athletics

Image
Last night, the Yankees came out on top with a 4-1 win over the Athletics. Ivan Nova looked great through 6 innings and the three-headed monster in the bullpen, with Betances in the 7th, Miller in the 8th, and Chapman in the 9th was able to finish it off. CC Sabathia returned from the DL today to face off against Sonny Gray in game 2 of the series. Athletics use tiebreaking home runs by Davis and Crisp in 7th to win 7-3 and complete sweep of Yankees

Image
The Yankees lost again to the Oakland Athletics last night by a score of 5-2. Though Nathan Eovaldi did not pitch badly, he had one bad inning and the Yankees offense struggled to score runs again. The Yankees now need to avoid another sweep against another AL West team. On Sunday, it was the Mariners, and now it’s the Athletics. The Yankees sent Luis Severino (0-2, 5.91 ERA) to the hill tonight to face Rich Hill (1-2, 4.15 ERA). Kendall Graveman shuts down Yankees offense and leads the Athletics to a 5-2 win

Image
The Yankees lost Game 1 of this series last night by a score of 3-2 in 11 innings. Although Alex Rodriguez got the scoring started early with a RBI single in the first, he struggled the rest of the night, particularly in the later innings, and so did the Yankees offense. Although the bullpen was strong in its 5 innings of relief, one run is the difference between win and loss in extra innings, and Johnny Barbato, unfortunately, gave up his first earned run of the season and suffered his first loss of the season. Tonight, the Yankees look to rebound with Nathan Eovaldi (0-1, 6.94 ERA) on the hill, who faces Kendall Graveman (0-1, 2.38 ERA) of the Oakland Athletics. Once again, the Yankees must hit with RISP, as they went 1-for-7 on Tuesday night. Picture Credit: Associated Press/Kathy Willens

Mark Canha's 2-out single in the 11th inning gives Athletics 3-2 win

Image
The Yankees came off a 4-3 win on Sunday against the Seattle Mariners to avoid a 3-game sweep over the weekend. Masahiro Tanaka went seven innings, the first time a Yankee pitcher has done so this season, and Dellin Betances and Andrew Miller struck out all six batters that they combined to face to close out the game. Alex Rodriguez finally ended his slump and drilled a 2-run home run to left in the first inning off of Hisashi Iwakuma. Tonight, the Yankees start a 3-game series against the Oakland Athletics, their second straight AL West opponent. The Yankees will send Michael Pineda, Nathan Eovaldi, and Luis Severino out to the mound to face the Oakland A’s to try and gain a few games back on their AL East counterparts. Oakland Athletics vs. New York Yankees Series Preview (4/19-4/21)

Image
The Yankees hope to build on Sunday's narrow 4-3 victory over the Mariners, as they welcome the Oakland Athletics to the Bronx for a three game series. Despite having gotten off to a hot start to begin the season, the Yankees offense has struggled tremendously when it comes to hitting with runners in scoring position. The Yankees enter this series in fourth place in the AL East, three games back from the division leading Baltimore Orioles. The Athletics, at 6-7, find themselves tied for second place and a game behind the Texas Rangers.

Yankees Take Game Two 5-4 With Help From Teixeira

Image
It was a big day for the Yankees, getting Jacoby Ellsbury and Andrew Miller back from the DL, two players that have been crucial to this season’s success. They faced off against the Athletics in game 2 of the series with CC Sabathia on the mound pitching against Scott Kazmir. The Yankees pulled out a win 5-4, almost giving it up at the end.
