New York Yankees @ Tampa Bay Rays 9/11-9/13

Image
The Bombers have won seven out of their last ten games and punctuated that with a huge 16-7 win in Texas yesterday. Trailing the Red Sox by only three and a half games, the Yanks have their eyes set on catching their arch rivals. This may be an away game on the schedule, but due to the threat Hurricane Irma, the Rays will host the Yankees in Queens at Citi Field, which should amount to a home game for New York. The last time these squads met, the Yankees were able to take three out of four in the Bronx.

After the acquisition of corner infielder Todd Frazier , that was believed to be it as far as acquiring more offensive help. That does not appear to be the case though, as it’s been reported by Mark Feinsand of MLB.com that GM Brian Cashman is still looking into getting a true first baseman. Photo Credit: Getty Images

Image
The New York Yankees enter this year’s trade deadline as careful buyers , as stated by general manager Brian Cashman. At just 3.5 games out of the AL East, the Yankees have been in the mix all season long in a year that might have been thought of as a rebuilding year entering 2017. However, the Yankees appear to be looking to make a postseason push, and with a couple holes on their roster, we will first take a look at what they can do to improve their infield at this year’s trade deadline. Yankees Rumors: The Yankees have “touched base” with Mets’ 1B Lucas Duda

Image
It has been no secret that the Yankees have had a disastrous time at first base this season. With the injury to Greg Bird, the Yankees have had over ten people try to man the position in 2017, and the production has been little to none as the Yankees rank in the lower third of the league in all first baseman offensive categories. The Yankees have been rumored to be interested in Marlins’ 1B Justin Bour, but according to Daniel Wexler, he was told by an MLB source that Lucas Duda could also be a possibility to man the corner.
