Offense bails out bullpen as Yankees beat Orioles 10-8

Image
The Yankees’ offense pounded Orioles’ pitching for ten runs on Friday, and the excess of runs was the key to the win as David Robertson, Jonathan Loaisiga, and A.J. Cole combined to allow six runs in relief. Despite the near collapse, the Yankees sealed the deal in the ninth as Betances picked up his fourth save of the season in the 10-8 victory.   Photo Credit: AP Photo/Frank Franklin II

All-around sloppy game snaps Yankees four-game win streak

Image
On ESPN for the second consecutive night, the Yanks let go of a 2-0 lead in the middle innings against another lowly team in the Chicago White Sox. The offense was virtually nonexistent in the 6-2 loss at Yankee Stadium in a poor outing by Masahiro Tanaka. Photo Credit: Bill Kostroun/AP

Yankees win nail-biter in the 12th, 2-1 against Miami

Image
The Yankees were able to turn an August game versus the Marlins into one of the most intense games of the season. The Marlins left the bases loaded twice, in the bottom of the ninth and in the bottom of the eleventh. Both teams had ample opportunities to break out and failed miserably, but the Yankees eventually came out on top in the twelfth. Photo Credit: AP Photo

Severino, Cole, and Britton struggle in Yankees’ loss to Mets

Image
Luis Severino’s struggles are starting to be a bit of an issue… The man who just a month ago was in a race for the AL Cy Young now has an ERA sitting at 3.27 after his 4 inning outing giving up 4 earned runs, which wouldn’t be a terrible ERA until you consider the fact that just seven starts ago it was sub two. The Yankees offense attempted to keep the team in the game, scoring 5 runs in a game that Jacob deGrom started, but poor bullpen choices by manager Aaron Boone led to a very tough 8-5 loss to the team from Queens. Yankee arms struggle as Ronald Guzman's three HRs power Rangers over Yanks

Image
The Yankees took the diamond Friday night looking to extend their four-game win streak with a victory over the Rangers. The first game of this series saw the Yankees hit five home runs en route to a 7-3 win. Tonight, the bats came alive late, but the Yankees arms did not do enough to keep them in it as they fell 12-7 to the Rangers.

Yankees snap losing streak behind Lynn's dazzling performance

Image
The Yankees limped into Chicago to kick off their series against the White Sox on Monday having lost five games in a row including an agonizing four-game sweep at the hands of the Boston Red Sox. Even though the Yankees have been struggling of late and they still will likely be without Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez for a few more weeks, they are now entering a favorable part of their schedule and the opportunity to get back on track is within their grasp. The Yankees kicked off their series with the White Sox on Monday by snapping their losing streak with a 7-0 win behind a few timely hits and more importantly, a brilliant pitching performance by Lance Lynn. Another strong Tanaka outing, timely hitting leads Yankees over Orioles 6-3

Image
Fresh off a series win against the Kansas City Royals, the Yankees took on the Baltimore Orioles in the Bronx Tuesday night but it was a much different Orioles team than they had faced so far this season. The Orioles moved several key players before Tuesday’s trade deadline, including Yankee killers Manny Machado and Jonathan Schoop. Despite some struggles by the bullpen in the later innings, this depleted Orioles team was no match for the Yankees, who grabbed a 6-3 win on Tuesday. Credit: Frank Franklin II/AP Photo

Ten predictions for the second half of the season

Image
1.       Yanks finish with a Wild Card spot The Yankees impressed to a 62-33 record in the first half and are currently on pace for over 100 wins. Unfortunately, the Red Sox are also in the AL East and happen to be playing at a historic pace. It’s nearly impossible for Mookie Betts and JD Martinez to keep up their unbelievable seasons, but with that being said, the Red Sox have gotten a lack of production from a lot of guys including Eduardo Nuñez, Jackie Bradley Jr., and Rafael Devers, while Chris Sale picked it up at the end of the first half of the season en route to starting another ASG. On the flip side, the Yanks have had injuries to many guys, but have also led the league in homers and gotten breakout seasons from rookies Gleyber Torres and Miguel Andujar along with a dominant bullpen. With the way the Red Sox are playing, it’ll be hard for the Yankees to catch them for the AL East title. Photo Credit: Getty Images

Early offensive explosion, another Tanaka gem pave way to eighth straight win

Image
On the heels of an emotional, come-from-behind win last  night , the Yankees turned to Masahiro Tanaka to keep the ball rolling.  Opposing Tanaka was RHP Garrett Richards for the Angels.  Both Tanaka and Richards had strong starts their last time out, with both earning the win.  Last night's win was New York's seventh in a row, and after Boston's loss at home to Tampa earlier this afternoon, the Yankees had a chance to pull within two games of the first place Red Sox. Tanaka was sharp all n ight ,  Richards didn't get out of the second and New York won  its  eighth straight by a score of 11-1.   Photo Credit: Mark J. Terrill/AP Photo
