Going into the 2020 season, Cashman will have to look for a replacement for Rothschild to work
alongside Aaron Boone with the Yankees’ pitching staff. Possible candidates discussed by Yankees color commentators include the likes of David Cone, Brent Strom currently of the Houston Astros and Yankees’ pitch development manager Desi Druschel but according to Joel Sherman there is no front runner.

Rumors of Rothschild’s next stop include joining former Yankees' skipper Joe Girardi in Philadelphia next year.
I’d put good money on him landing with the Joe and Topper in Philadelphia https://t.co/EsS8aNyHSC— Jomboy (@Jomboy_) October 28, 2019
