How the Yankees plan to cover for Domingo German while suspended

Image
Despite being one of the team’s top starting pitchers for the entirety of the 2019 season, Domingo German was not a part of the Yankees’ postseason run due to his suspension under Major League Baseball’s domestic violence policy.  German was held out of the final week of the regular season, and the entirety of the playoffs - a total of 18 games in all - before finally getting hit with an 81-game suspension this winter that will carry into June.     Photo Credit: Brad Penner/USA TODAY Sports

As the Yankees head down the final stretch of the regular season they will look to their minor league system for reinforcements to help them close out the year. They could activate up to 40 players but most likely will only call up a couple of guys. Here is a list of some of the players who could get the call: Clint Frazier : The time has come for Frazier to finally return to the Yankees. He has spent most of the season in the minors after struggling defensively but his bat will help the Yankees close out the season. In 53 major league games this year Frazier slashed .283/.330/.513. Frazier could get at bats at DH while the Yankees wait for the return of Luke Voit, Giancarlo Stanton, and Edwin Encarnacion. Photo Credit: Newsday

Fantasizing about Francisco Lindor in pinstripes

As a follower of the Yankees, the richest franchise in baseball and fifth in all of sports, they’re often associated with superstar names when guys become available because they have the money, pedigree, and even the assets if it’s via trade. Look no further than the latest example of a potential trade target that would require a massive package, shortstop Francisco Lindor of the Cleveland Indians.
