Get well soon, Boone: Aaron Boone taking "immediate medical leave of absence" to have pacemaker installed
With three exhibition Spring Training games completed so far this season, the Yankees announced that their skipper, Aaron Boone, would be heading in to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa on March 3rd to receive a pacemaker.
Boone required open heart surgery in 2009 and disclosed in his own statement, also shared via Twitter, that the urgent need for the pacemaker is related to the same health concerns that necessitated the surgery. The statement indicates that Boone will be "back to work in the next several days," so we can hope that he'll be good as new by Opening Day.
