The countdown to April 1 is officially on.  The Yankees have made some excellent headway in their Spring Training games, with a record of 13-6 in the Grapefruit League. With Aaron Hicks  undergoing Tommy John surgery in the winter and targeting a July/August return date,  and Giancarlo Stanton  and Aaron Judge’s  status es  for Opening Day unknown,  the Yankees outfield  could see  some changes throughout the  opening weeks of the season  as players try to establish themselves as contributors to the team.   

For the first time all season, the Yankees are headed to Fenway Park. This weekend’s four-game series presents an opportunity for the Yankees to put the final nail in the American League East coffin of their long-time rival. Entering play on Thursday 12 games up on the Red Sox in the division, a series win, or possibly even a split, would make it next to impossible for the Red Sox to make a run at the AL East over the season’s final two months. It’s the weekend that baseball fans from across the pond have been waiting for all season. Major League Baseball’s inaugural London Series, between arguably the league’s two most storied franchises, takes place this Saturday and Sunday. These two rivals have played each other five times so far this season, with the Yankees taking home four of those wins. Coming into the series, the Yanks are a season-high 10 games ahead of the Red Sox in the loss column. The Yankees come in at a season-best 52-28 (winners of nine out of 10), while Boston enters plays with a 44-38 record after winning six of their last 10 games.

An electric bullpen. It’s something that Yankees fans have grown accustomed to over the last few years. Every season since 2014, the team has ranked top two in MLB in bullpen wins above replacement (WAR). In addition, the 2018 Yankees had the highest bullpen WAR (9.7) in league history. Need more proof? New York’s relief corps finished number one in strikeouts per nine innings (K/9) in all five of those campaigns. Series Preview: New York Yankees vs Oakland Athletics (9-3/9-5)                      There’s no Labor Day rest for the Yankees (and no rest for the fans, let’s get ready for a few bleary-eyed weekday mornings after two games with 10pm starts), as they head over to the West Coast to face the Oakland Athletics, following a seven-game home stand. Only rest for Aaron Boone, who will be fresh off his one-game suspension after being ejected on August 31st. The Yankees and the Athletics met only once over the course of the 2018 season so far, and this meeting is far more important than the three-game series that the two teams met for in May. The series that we have all been waiting for is finally here. The best rivalry in sports is ready to add another exciting chapter to its storied history. The calendar has flipped to August, and it’s officially time for the Yankees to put up or shut up in the American League East, as the team heads to Fenway Park for a four-game series against the first-place Boston Red Sox. This series starts a stretch of 10 games the two teams will play against each other over the next two months. Entering play on Thursday, the Yanks trail Boston by 5.5 games in the division, so it is critical that the team doesn’t lose any more ground to their longtime rival. After taking two out of three from the Atlanta Braves earlier this week, the Yankees now head north of the border for a three-game weekend series against the Blue Jays in Toronto. This is the Yanks third, and final, trip to the Rogers Centre this season, where they are 4-2 so far. Entering play Friday, the Yankees are 56-28 and one game behind the Red Sox in the AL East. Meanwhile, Toronto, sitting at 40-46 and 18 games back of Boston, is likely to be a seller at the trade deadline later this month.
