Prospect Spotlight: Michael King

Image
First acquired in a relatively small-time, 40-man sell-off move around this time last year that sent 1B Garrett Cooper and LHP Caleb Smith to Miami, Michael King was seen as a young right hander with promise, but one still years away from making any significant Major League impact.   At the time, the important part of that trade was the $250,000 international bonus pool money Miami included, which we all thought was to be used on Shohei Ohtani.   Ohtani, obviously, never ended up in the Bronx and will not pitch at all in 2019 after undergoing offseason Tommy John Surgery. Instant reaction: CC Sabathia goes on the 15-day DL, Phil Coke called up from Triple-A

Image
What a way to start off the weekend. Earlier today, at 2:21 PM ET, the Yankees PR Department broke Yankees Twitter by tweeting that CC Sabathia had been placed on the DL. Coming off his best outing of the season, this is a huge loss for the Yankees. Yankees manager Joe Girardi talked to the media, and said that Sabathia will hopefully only miss three weeks. Roster Moves: Place CC Sabathia on 15-day DL w/left groin strain, sign LHP Phil Coke to ML contract/select to 25-man from @swbrailriders — Yankees PR Dept. (@YankeesPR) May 6, 2016

Aaron's 2016 New York Yankees Starters Projections

Image
Although the Yankees finally made it back to the postseason in 2015, they were abruptly eliminated in the Wild Card round which left Yankee fans disappointed. With exactly one week until Opening Day, I wanted to give you my projections for the 2016 New York Yankees lineup and rotation. The Yankees success will ultimately be determined by how healthy they can be over the course of the season. It will be interesting to see whether veterans like A-Rod, Teixeira, Beltran and Ellsbury can consistently produce over the next six or seven months. The acquisitions of both Starlin Castro and Aaron Hicks help add depth and stability in the lineup. The pitching rotation is a big question mark, but thanks to an improved bullpen the Yankees should be able to shorten ballgames and salvage a few more wins. Without further ado, here are my 2016 projections: Photo Via NY Daily News
