Before we hop into part two of the prospect floor and ceilings, I wanted to remind everyone that this article is purely opinion and completely subjective. If you search the web for another place to read this type of article, you won’t find it. Not this complete anyway. No one likes to give prospects Major League comparisons because it’s a complete shot in the dark and they’re scared to be wrong. But in my opinion, with the season still on hiatus, it makes for a fun read. Right now the Yankees have the luxury of having a really exciting farm system with ton of talent that has unbelievable potential. The most intriguing part about the Yankees right now, are these prospects (at least until the season starts). Like I said in part one, every single one of these could be way off. With the trade deadline coming and going, one of the most exciting times of the baseball season has passed. Obviously, there are differing opinions on the Yankees trade deadline activity (or lack thereof), and that is also evident internally within the Bronx Bomber Blogger writers. So, we decided we’d share a few opinions that some of our writers here have. You’ll see a paragraph or more opinionated evaluation with whose opinion it was below the paragraph. Enjoy!

Following Sunday’s late-inning victory against the Seattle Mariners, there were reports of the Yankees scouting Cincinnati Red’s All Star pitcher Johnny Cueto. The Yankees were in fact in the building for Cueto’s start this afternoon along with scouts from the Dodgers, Jon Morosi of Fox Sports reports. The idea of Cueto being traded to the Yankees should excite many Bomber fans. On the season Cueto is 6-6 with a 2.73 ERA. In a free agent year, this would be the ideal time for the Yanks to make a move for the Ace.

After losing 3 out of 4 in Oakland, the Yankees finish off the road trip strong by sweeping the Mariners in 3 games.

By: Jesse Garcia It was no secret that the New York Yankees got mediocre offensive production from some of their “Big Bats” in 2014 such as: Brian McCann, Mark Teixeria, and Carlos Beltran. One player that separated himself from those lame ducks was Jacoby Ellsbury. Ellsbury, in his first season of a seven year deal worth $153 million, hit .271 with 16 homers and drove in 70 runs.

From the back end of their starting pitching rotation, to across the infield, the Yankees have problems and general manager Brian Cashman needs to smooth things out. Aside from Brett Gardner in left, Jacoby Ellsbury in center, and Brian McCann behind the plate, (who all have histories with injuries) the Yankees do not have many “sure things.” Let’s take a look, position-by-position, of who the Yankees currently have on their roster and who could possibly end up there.

David Robertson’s contract has expired and he has already turned down the Yankees’ one-year $15.3 million qualifying offer. Had he accepted that, Robertson would have been the highest paid closer for one season in Major League Baseball history.
