Is Chris Archer worth pursuing for the Yankees?

With less than 24 hours until the trade deadline, the Yankees find themselves still in the midst of a number of high profile trade rumors, with some more enticing than others. The Yanks have been linked with two different groups at this point: pitchers and rumblings about a bat to help reduce the suffering of Gary and Judge being on the DL. However, for this article we will focus on the Yanks possible need for pitching, being in the mix for both starters and relievers. Big names such as Cole Hamels and Brad Hand are off the market, and with the Nationals and Dodgers both extremely unlikely to deal their aces, focus must be shifted elsewhere, as the clock is quickly ticking. Brian Cashman has been up to his usual chats he has with executives round the league to gauge interest in his players, and despite recently acquiring J.A Happ from Toronto, you can never put it past him to make yet another move if he hears a package to his pleasing.

Didi's historic 8 RBIs lead the Yankees to a 2018 Home Opener win

Image
Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come. Baseball has finally returned to the Bronx. We all had to wait an extra day due to a freak snow storm, but the Yankees are back in their homeland here in 2018. For the second year in a row, they played their home opener against the Tampa Bay Rays. For the record, in 2017, Michael Pineda took a perfect game into the seventh inning to begin the Yankees’ season at home. Yet, somehow, the Yankees outdid Big Mike's gem with an even more exciting game. Didi Gregorius single-handedly destroyed the Rays, tallying eight RBIs in a historic day.    Photo Credit: BR

BBB Betting Tips: Rays @ Yankees 4/3

Justin Smoak cost this blog a win on Sunday. Going into the eighth with a one run lead, and David Robertson, Houdini himself, on the mound, the money line win felt like a lock. Even when they walked Josh Donaldson to load the bases for Smoak, I was thinking that it was brilliant. The odds of a two home run game were low, and Houdini always finds a way out of trouble. Thankfully the series is over, and a Yankee team that dominated at home last year returns to the Bronx this afternoon. Photo Credit: Getty Images

Baseball is back at the Bronx, after five months, 15 days, and seven hours of anticipation (but who’s counting?), the Yankees will don their pinstripes in The Cathedral of Baseball on East 161st Street. This will be the first chance for most Yankee fans to see their team up close in person, and with all the hype surrounding this team this offseason, between the trade for Giancarlo Stanton and the anointing of the best bullpen in baseball, the Bronx Faithful are chomping at the bit to finally see their Bombers take on the Tampa Bay Rays.  CBSSports.com

The Yankees kicked off day one of the Winter Meetings in a big way, officially introducing 2017 NL MVP Giancarlo Stanton as the newest member of the organization. In addition to that, the Yankees were involved in a number of rumors. However, not too much has gone down just yet. Let’s take a look at some rumors and rumblings from day one of the Winter Meetings. Gardner caps Yankees' comeback with walk-off homer in 11th inning as Yankees win 6-5

The New York Yankees take the first game in their four-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays with a walk-off home run in the 11th inning. The back-and-forth game saw the Yankees tie the game in the ninth inning with two outs on a defensive lapse by the Rays. New York had more than a few opportunities to win the game in the first nine innings but needed more to win the contest 6-5. Photo Credit: AP The Yankees started the scoring in the second inning when Jacoby Ellsbury brought home Chase Headley with an RBI double. Ellsbury got the start in center field, after falling out of favor, and rewarded manager Joe Girardi with an early lead. Todd Frazier followed up with an RBI single, bringing in Ellsbury. The team continued the momentum one inning later when Gary Sanchez hit his 15th home run of the season. At this point it seemed as if Chris Archer wouldn't last long. However, he settled down and ended up pitching six innings, not allowing another run on the mound. Tampa Bay ...
