The Yankees will be watching the World Series from their couches for the 13th consecutive season, Aaron Judge is a free agent with no guarantee of his return, the Yankees are the laughingstock of the league this week after playing an embarrassing 2004 Red Sox ALCS comeback montage as motivation from their own 3-0 ALCS deficit.  Oh yeah, and did we mention we lost to Houston AGAIN?  Things are very-bad, no-good in Yankeeland right now as we embark on another offseason of frustrations and questions about where things went so wrong.  The writers of the BBB each weigh in on the state of the team and the franchise as a whole. With the Yankees' season nearly a month over, the dust has finally settled and the offseason is in full swing. The Yankees had strong aspirations for the third consecutive year and came up short of their goal for the third straight year. With this being said, there is a lot to discuss and speculate, and here are a handful of our writers' takes on what happened in 2019 and what may go down in the 2019-2020 offseason as the Yankees strive to finally get back to the Fall Classic for the first time since 2009.  Photo Credit: NY Post

Along with being Yankee enthusiasts, the staff here at BBB is comprised of avid baseball fans across the entirety of the sport. With that being said, we decided to complete a mock Hall of Fame voting using the 2019 candidates. Similar to the official voting, our ballots could only comprise of up to ten candidates, but choosing less than ten candidates was surely an option. Any player with a mark above 75% would be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, if the voting rested in our hands. Opening Day is officially a single day away.  The long Winter offseason has finally come and gone and in just 24 short hours, Yankees baseball will be back on our TVs nightly.  In preparation of the start of the season, I asked a few of our writers to weigh in on the top storylines heading into the 2018 Season. Coming into this year’s trade deadline, Brian Cashman claimed the Yankees would be “careful buyers.” With that, Cashman was looking for controllable assets without compromising the future, and he did just that. In his first move, Cashman dealt a potentially blocked prospect in Blake Rutherford, often-injured arm in Ian Clarkin, lower level prospect in Tito Polo and struggling reliever Tyler Clippard to the Chicago White Sox for David Robertson, Tommy Kahnle and Todd Frazier . Then, the Yankees went out and acquired lefty Jaime Garcia from the Twins for pitching prospects Zack Littell and Dietrich Enns. Finally, the Yankees acquired Sonny Gray in a final-hour splash for prospects Dustin Fowler, Jorge Mateo, and James Kaprielian.
